The Lancashire Telegraph's Greenday Eco-Pods

For this event Touchpro Media provided four refurbished high standard interactive touch screen eco pods which had been destined for landfill following their 'lives' as fixed odds betting terminals. The move was to demonstrate our own efforts and commitment to recycling and of course the environment.

The Lancashire Telegraph's 'Greenday' brought together around 40 businesses demonstrating eco friendly working practices. The main sponsors for the event were Lancashire Telegraph and Blackburn with Darwin Borough Council.

Software
The software solution for the Greenday pods was a collaborative effort between the studio department of The Lancashire Telegraph and Touchpro Media. Using Flash for simplicity and effectiveness the concept was for end users to be able to see, touch & learn.

It was anticipated that only a short time would be spent at the 'pod' - therefore sufficient yet limited nuggets of informationabout each of the exhibitors would be presented to visitors using the pods.

Usage
The Greenday information pods notched up a collective usage total of over two thousand hits - not bad for an exhibition lasting just five and a half hours!

Duration
The shelf of the application was very short at just 5.5 hours.
